Update #26 – September 2018

Hey!! If you’re new to the site or haven’t been here in some time, you may be wondering what this post is. TL;DR – my wife Rachel and I started our marriage together with over $80,000 worth of debt between us. That got old REAL quick, so we turned to Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover for help getting out of it. If you missed the last monthly update, you can find it here, or you can see all of them from the Updates link on the home page.

Ouch.  It’s been a long six weeks since I’ve posted anything here.  Work and family have kept me busy, which is how life is supposed to be, right?  I apologize this update is so late, but here we go!

Payoff Projection

Back up to April 2024 for our projected payoff! It’s no Christmas gift this year, but it’s going the right way.

The Road Ahead

So September wasn’t as quiet as I’d thought!  We’re finally down to being able to count the number of loans we have on one hand, which is amazing.  I realize it’s kind of cheating to speculate on what will happen in October since we’re already halfway through it, but my annual raise was pretty mediocre, so I don’t think there will be any fireworks.  It would be awesome to be able to strike out another one of those small student loans before the end of the year, but I’m not too confident that will happen.  We’ll be seeing Dave Ramsey tomorrow as he stops in our fair city on his Smart Money tour, so maybe we’ll get amped up enough to make it work!
